The Municipality of Eiði
The Municipality of Eiði includes
the villages Eiði, Ljósá and Svínáir. On the 1. of January 2009 the
population in Eiði was 634 (340 males and 294 females), 31 in Ljósá
(14 males and 17 females) and in Svínáir 30 (16 males and 14 females).
The village Eiði is situated on the low isthmus which connects "Eiðiskollur" with the island "Eysturoy". In this way Eiði is peculiar to having sea on two sides and land on two sides.
